You will assist the Hydrotherapy team by managing and booking Hydrotherapy clinic appointments. This will include checking patients in at reception, directing them to the changing room, assisting with the removal of shoes and socks if needed.
You will prepare the pool area for the sessions and may be required to provide minimal personal assistance to patients. You will be provided with full training, to use the hoist to assist patients into the water. The postholder will also be fully trained to enter the pool in an emergency, to assist the therapist, if necessary. You will be working as part of a close-knit team, who provide excellent customer care.
This may include communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives. You will provide professional, efficient and effective administrative support to the Therapy teams, with the possibility of providing administrative support/cover, as required, to MSK Physiotherapy. This is an essential role and you must be organised, self-motivated and forward thinking with excellent customer service skills. It is important that you are empathetic towards patients using the service and can remain calm under pressure.
You will be assertive and be able to multi-task while dealing with a high volume of patients in reception. Knowledge of medical terminology would also be an advantage.
