A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Torquay. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children's learning and development in a classroom setting.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide valuable support to students, helping them to engage with lessons and reach their full potential. Your role will involve working with small groups or one-to-one with pupils who need additional support, as well as assisting with classroom activities and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and structured lessons.
• Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to provide additional support.
• Help to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Assist with classroom management and maintaining student focus.
• Provide encouragement and guidance to help build pupils’ confidence and independence.
• Support children with special educational needs (SEN) where required.
• Assist in preparing classroom resources and setting up activities.

What We’re Looking For 

• Experience working with children in an educational or care setting is desirable but not essential.
• A positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Adaptability and a willingness to take on different tasks as needed.
