Salary: Circa £53.5k – £59.5k (including shift premium) + bonus + significant benefits

Shift Details: Night Shift

 

Working Hours:

Sun: Midnight – 06.00

Mon – Thurs: 22.00 – 06:00

The Role

We are seeking experienced and motivated Manufacturing Shift Leader to join our operations team to assist us in delivering consistently high standards of production for our generic and branded products. The role comes with a generous shift premium.

 

Leading a complete shift, you’ll manage a team of c. 12 general and technical operators, delegating tasks and checking the output in order to meet the department’s objectives. Working closely with other departments (e.g. Quality, Engineering) you will be confident of your ability to meet production schedule requirements, assess resource needs, materials and equipment.

 

Responsible for the line management and recruitment of your team, you’ll be experienced with managing and monitoring individual performance, creating development plans or taking remedial action if appropriate. Valuing safety and quality, maintaining compliant operations is at the core of the roles, and understanding policies, good manufacturing practice (GMP) and environment, health and safety (EHS) standards and experience of following regulatory requirements and SOPs to the letter is essential. Where deviations occur, you’ll action and close CAPAs and Change Controls in an effective and timely manner. To ensure quality levels are maintained, you’ll participate in regular audits, champion our Continuous Improvement initiatives, and contribute to projects to guarantee they come in on time, in budget and to the required standards. In addition, you’ll deputise for the department Manager and provide cross shift support, as required.

The Person

  • Significant experience in similar complex operations, manufacturing management role(s), ideally in highly regulated environments
  • Strong people management experience, motivating and developing your team whilst being confident to have the more difficult conversations, administering and upholding HR policies and procedures, as required.
  • Good understanding of Quality Management Systems with a sound technical aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills (in written and spoken English), able to liaise with all levels of authority and navigate cultural differences with ease.
  • Strong organisation skills, able to manage multiple tasks to deadline and maintain a good eye for detail even in a fast-paced and changeable work environment.
  • Good IT skills (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to think at both a strategic and tactical level
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject, or with equivalent experience
