Role: Learning Coach

Location: Exeter

Contract: Full time, permanent

Salary: £14.45 - £15.20 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting young people to re-engage with education and achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Coach to work with students aged 11 to 17 in a specialist education setting in Exeter.

What do Learning Mentors do?

• Support students in developing effective coping strategies
• Encourage motivation and a positive approach to learning
• Inspire students to set and achieve ambitious goals
• Assist in re-engaging students with their education
• Foster confidence and resilience in young learners 
• Enhance social and emotional development
• Identify and address barriers to learning to support academic and personal growth

About you:

We are looking for educators who are committed to supporting young people, particularly those with additional needs. The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with children, preferably in a SEN, SEMH or alternative education setting
• A flexible and adaptable approach to meet the diverse needs of students 
• The ability to implement creative strategies to support engagement and learning 
• A commitment to working towards the targets set out in Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs)
• Skills or experience in areas such as forest school, art, sports or other practical activities (desirable but not essential)
