Location: Newton Abbot (plus outreach sites)

Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum

Long-Term Teachers are seeking an Education Support Worker for a unique and rewarding role at a small, specialist education setting in Newton Abbot. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and dynamic team committed to delivering tailored learning experiences that transform lives.

About the role:

As an Education Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people aged 7 - 16 with a range of needs. You’ll work primarily at the secondary site in Newton Abbot but must also be flexible to travel to the primary site and provide outreach support when required. A valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle with at least 2 years driving experience is essential.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to students, fostering engagement and achievement in both academic and personal development goals
• Planning and delivering segments of the learning or intervention programme, tailored to individual needs
• Contributing to a collaborative team approach that supports the educational, social, emotional and behavioural progress of students
• Conducting intervention sessions on-site and off-site to promote positive learning outcomes

About you:

The ideal candidate will:

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN or education setting
• A genuine interest in supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to positive behaviour management strategies
• Able to remain calm and professional, especially when managing challenging behaviour
• Must be able to drive, have access to your own vehicle (must have been driving for at least 2 years)
• Good sense of humour
• Willing to be adaptable and flexible

Working hours will be 8:45am - 4:45pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.
