DEPUTY MANGER FOR UNNACOMPANIED ASYLUM SEEKING CHILDREN
EXETER CITY CENTRE
HOURS: 37.5 per week
Salary: £30,000 - £37,000 depending on qualifications and experience
Aims of the role:
- To achieve positive outcomes for Young People in placement by line managing the Residential Support Workers to deliver an effective service.
- To support on the growth and development of the organisation as a reputable service provider for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children.
- To liaise with external professionals across education, social care, health and other services to ensure services for Young Peoples care meet statutory requirements (Oftsed) and best practice standards.
Essential Criteria
- Management / supervisory experience within children's services.
- Experience of leading, managing and motivating a team, ensuring effective performance management to fulfil organisational objectives.
- Knowledge of legislation and statutory responsibilities in relation to Children and Young People in care.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and issues in a political context.
- Good communication skills and inter-personal skills, including written and presentation skills.
- Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management (social care) or prepared to work towards this qualification, funded by ouselves.
- Ability to travel across the South West and flexibility to work evenings and weekends, when necessary.
