Role: Behaviour Support Specialist (SEMH focus)

Are you passionate about transforming lives and making a real impact on young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. We have an exciting opportunity for a Behaviour Support Specialist to join a dedicated team at a SEN school in Exeter.
About the role:
As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will play a key role in creating a safe, structured and supportive learning environment for students aged 7 - 16 (KS2 - KS4). Working closely with teachers and fellow support staff, you’ll provide targeted behavioural interventions, helping students to develop coping strategies, self-regulation skills and positive habits that will set them up for success. You will play a vital role in supporting them throughout their education.

The school is diligent in supporting the wellbeing of their staff. Full training and support is provided, you have daily safeguarding meetings before and after school and counselling is provided to all staff. You will be part of a friendly, close-knit and supportive team.
Previous experience in education is desirable but not essential. A background in a care setting provides excellent foundations to be successful in this role. You will be working Monday to Friday, term time only. It is essential that you have an excellent work ethic as you will be constantly supervising the young people, even having lunch with them.
