Join Gateley Smithers Purslow at our Exeter office as an Apprentice Building Surveyor and dive into the world of Building Surveying. You'll work alongside Senior Surveyors who advise our clients on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites.
Our Apprenticeship Programme allows you to fast track your career. You’ll get the opportunity to combine hands-on experience with academic study, learning whilst you and earn simultaneously. As an apprentice, you’ll benefit from on-the-job training, mentorship and a structured development plan. We'll cover the costs and give you the support you need to achieve your professional qualifications.
On this apprenticeship you will complete the BSc (Hons) Building Surveying (Chartered Surveying Degree Apprenticeship) with the University of West England. This is delivered on a day release basis across a 5-year duration.
As an apprentice you will support with:
• Working with the Surveying team to inspect and provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites.
• Inspections to involve acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys and defect investigations.
• Assist Senior Surveyors with the preparation with technical reports, schedules of work and works specifications.
• Designing and overseeing works using recognised building contracts and adhering to current technical standards.
• Develop an understanding and apply other relevant legislation such as health and safety, party wall, building regulations and planning.
• Ensuring all work complies with the requirements of the Company’s administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
