We are seeking to recruit dynamic and self-motivated individuals, with excellent communication skills, to work in Client Financial Services as Income & Assessment Officers, within the Financial Assessment Team.
Client Financial Services sits within Finance & Public Value Directorate, supporting Adult Social Care. The service provides Financial Assessment, Income Collection, Debt Management and Strategy and Engagement functions to Devon County Council, providing benefit awareness support to clients and generating income from chargeable social care totalling £60+ million.
The Income and Assessment Officer role sits within either of the two areas below, we currently have vacancies within the Financial Assessment Team:
Financial Assessment Team: responsible for carrying out Financial Assessment and Benefit Entitlement activity for clients of the Adult Social Care Directorate (including Mental Health Services) in accordance with both national legislation and local government charging policies.
Income & Debt Management Team: responsible for ensuring that charges due in respect of social care and support contributions are paid, providing a variety of payment and debt resolution options, and ensuring high value debts are secured.
Postholders will be required to make direct contact with clients and/or their representatives, giving clear information, advice and guidance including signposting to relevant agencies where appropriate. Client contact will usually be made using Microsoft TEAMS appointments or via the telephone in the first instance, so applicants should have excellent communication skills and be numerate, literate and attentive to detail.
