About the Role:
Our client is looking for a Senior CAD & BIM Technician to join their Water & Environment sector team. Based in one of their UK offices, you'll play a key role in delivering projects that meet both industry and client standards, supporting a range of initiatives that contribute to sustainable development across the built and natural environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with project managers and teams to ensure smooth project workflow and coordination.
- Develop, manage, and implement CAD & BIM standards across projects.
- Create, edit, and refine 3D models using Revit and other digital delivery tools.
- Produce CAD & BIM deliverables that meet industry standards, including BS EN ISO19650 compliance.
- Generate 3D geometrical data for clash detection, model validation, and stakeholder liaison.
- Support best practice initiatives for digital delivery tools and provide training within the Water & Environment team and beyond.
- Assist in creating federated models and maintaining digital delivery templates.
- Lead BIM review/coordination meetings as needed.
- Manage information flow within a common data environment and understand various BIM software formats.
What Our Client is Looking For:
Essential:
Qualifications:
- HNC or higher in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or relevant experience.
- HND.
- Member of a relevant professional institute.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in the Building or Civil sector, with a focus on design and drafting (2D & 3D) using Revit as the primary software tool.
- Practical experience adhering to BIM standardised workflows and best practices.
- Previous experience in an engineering and/or consultancy organisation.
Skills:
- Ability to conduct internal training and mentor staff.
- Experience in creating and maintaining BIM software templates.
- Proficiency in setting up BIM projects.
- Strong knowledge of 3D modelling tools relevant to the specific discipline.
- Competence in managing information flows between different software within a project, ensuring seamless communication between platforms.
Preferred:
Experience:
- Demonstrable examples of resolving 3D design issues.
- Proficiency with various software tools applicable to the Water & Environment sector.
- Ability to develop BIM standards relevant to the Building and Civil sectors.
- Capability to perform quality control and audit work produced by others.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot CAD & BIM-related design issues.
- Experience as a BIM coordinator in multi-discipline environments.
Skills:
- Experience in creating Revit parametric families.
- Skilled in creating and managing Revit templates.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud and experience with BIM Collaborate Pro.
- Proficiency in using Navisworks for federated model analysis.
- Experience with Dynamo for Revit to enhance task automation.
- Good knowledge of various other software modelling tools, such as:
- Competence in visualisation software tools, including:
- Twinmotion
- Enscape
- Unreal Engine
- Unity
