Job responsibilities
Duties of the role include but are not limited to:
- Undertaking technical nursing treatment and procedures within your scope of practice for patients healthcare military needs including Wound care, suture removal, ECG, cytology, weight management, life style and health promotion, phlebotomy, ear care, travel health, occupation and routine immunisations inc yellow fever vaccination.
- Supporting the Senior Nurse Officer in the management of patients with long term conditions and occupational screening and elements of occupational health.
- Supporting the Senior Nurse Officer with tasks associated with health care governance, IPC, equipment care and stock management.
- Providing support for the general running and administration of the treatment room, ensuring care delivery in accordance with national, service policy and protocols; whilst matching care provision to the needs of the service.
- Providing professional and clinical leadership to Nurses (Locum and Students) and Medical Branch ratings working in the Treatment Room / Nursing Department, whilst maintaining and actively promoting good communication through the line management chain at all sites.
