An interesting and exciting opportunity has arisen for people with a genuine interest in healthcare and patient safety to become part of the team within the Hospital Sterilisation and Decontamination Unit (HSDU) we provide operating theatres, wards and clinics in the community with surgical instruments and medical devices required for sterile procedures.
The role of the administrator is crucial in supporting front of house operations in HSDU to staff, customers, contractors and visitors.
The core shift pattern is 0900-1700 Monday to Friday.
To provide high quality administrative and technical support to HSDU management to ensure an effective and efficient service to all customers. Reactive to the needs of the HSDU Team. There will be an expectation for the post holder to be highly motivated, flexible and multi-skilled with excellent organisational skills and a good team player.
Part of the job role involves maintaining the health roster to ensure all allocated duties are kept up to date as well as absence. Answering the telephone in a polite manner and helping to support customer needs. Ensuring appropriate confidentiality at all times both written and verbal.
To adhere to standards and requests made by management and to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
HSDU is responsible for providing an excellent and reliable decontamination service within Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust and other specialist users outside the organization as in accordance with the UKCA Medical Device Directive and iso 13485 accreditation.

To provide and deliver a high standard of admin/technical support to the HSDU team in an efficient and timely manner
Collation and submission of the weekly payroll for all staff
Maintain staff annual leave records.
Maintain management diaries, booking and re-scheduling appointments.
Produce documents via copy composing non routine letters as necessary.
Support and facilitate meetings through: sourcing suitable venues, recording of notes / minutes and distribution of associated paperwork. Follow up actions as necessary. Answering telephone requests/ complaints and general enquiries. Maintain accurate lines of communication at all times.
Excellent IT skills, proficient with Microsoft office and a willingness to learn how to use department specific IT systems.
