LIVE IN TEAM MEMBER YHA OKEHAMTON
The role of a team member is to primarily support the daily management of the hostel. You’ll cover a wide range of customer facing duties across the hostel, delivering an excellent service to all guests and visitors, giving them a great experience of YHA. Your day may range from working on reception, providing information on the hostel and local area, to carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties, to working in the kitchen and serving meals.
Our family run youth hostel and activity centre on the edge of Dartmoor national park sleeps up to 125 people, creating a busy environment so this is an ideal position for an individual who enjoys working within an energetic team delivering a positive experience to all our guests

What you’ll be doing:
· Kitchen: basic food prep and serving our range of meals to groups, cleaning of kitchen
· Housekeeping : preparing rooms – emptying bins, hoovering, making beds, cleaning bathrooms and straightening out the social spaces all to YHA brand standards
.Reception : checking-in and welcoming guests to the property, ensuring any customer feedback is dealt with in a professional manner and waving goodbye at the end of their stay
What we’re looking for:
· Deliver excellent customer service
· Comply with food hygiene standards
· Undertake housekeeping tasks to a high standard of cleanliness
· A ‘people person’ passionate about building rapport with new people
· An eye for detail to see what needs to be done using own initiative
· A positive attitude and willingness to learn with a degree of flexibility
· Someone who loves working in a team environment, but can also work alone
· Customer facing / Hospitality experience is great but not essential
· Catering and housekeeping experience ideal
· Proficient in basic computer skills and telephone skills
