Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. This role requires a strong understanding of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and the ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Duties

Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation and cooking.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
Manage inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and presented beautifully.
Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety, and operational procedures.
Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements where necessary.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and culinary techniques.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with other kitchen staff.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A passion for food and hospitality, with a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: £13.50-£15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
