Skills and Experience
· Previous reception or hotel experience would be advantageous
· Excellent Customer Service skills
· Effective communication skills, adaptable to a wide range of audiences
· Be courteous, friendly, and professional
· Strong organisational and administrative skills
· Have an eye for detail
· Resourceful, efficient, and proactive
· Able to work on your own initiative
· Must be able to read, write and communicate verbally to a high standard in English; being able to communicate in an additional language would be an advantage
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the entirety of the customer journey from making a booking and pre-arrival through to the departure
- Process all aspects of guest bookings from new bookings, extensions, cancellations and amendments
- Provide an efficient checking in and out process for all guests accommodating special requests whenever possible
- Ensure proper telephone manners are always maintained and that the telephone is answered promptly
- Ensure all written and verbal communication is professional in tone and suitable for its audience
- Manage and resolve guest complaints in a proactive, professional and timely manner
- Maintain a neat and tidy Front Desk area
- Responsible for the security of the premises and do regular security and safety walkarounds of the property
- Be fully aware of Fire and Emergency Procedures
- Ensure any relevant information is handed over to the following shift to ensure consistency of service to the guests
- Achieve competency in using all Front Office equipment
- Escalate anything unusual to management
- Manage lost property in accordance with the lost property standard operating procedure
- Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all Team Members and Guests in line with the business’ equality and diversity policies and procedures.
- Perform any other task as required by the Town House Manager
