Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our team in a bustling cafe environment. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff and ensuring smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen tools promptly. Pre wash items before loading them into the dishwasher.
- Ensure items are properly clean and dry before placing them away in the correct location.
- Dispose of rubbish and recycling following company procedures.
- Support inventory management by storing deliveries in designated areas.
- Adhere to health and safety standards at all times.
- Help to keep the kitchen and front of house clean with regular sweeping and end of day deeper cleans.
- Deep cleaning of items and the kitchen as and when required.
- Clear tables from the cafe and wipe them clean for the next customer.
- Running food orders to tables
- In busy time you may be asks to assist the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks (training will be given if this is the case).
The nature of the job does require physical strength. Trays and dishwasher trays when loaded can be heavy to handle.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to help with various kitchen tasks as needed.
- Knowledge of basic food hygiene practices is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with culinary terms and kitchen operations.
At this stage we are looking for someone to work every Sunday 10am to 4pm and Monday 9am to 5pm with a half hour unpaid break each day.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £6.40-£11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 13 per week
