Are you passionate about supporting children in their learning journey? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Newton Abbot. This part-time role offers a fantastic opportunity to provide personalised support to a child with specific learning needs, helping them to thrive in an inclusive and nurturing environment.

 

Your Role as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide individualised support, ensuring the child’s academic and emotional well-being
  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored lesson plans and learning resources
  • Encourage focus and engagement by adapting activities to suit the child’s learning style
  • Monitor progress and contribute to their academic and social development
  • Foster a positive, inclusive space that builds confidence and independence

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a school setting
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive approach with the ability to adapt and use initiative

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working with children with additional learning needs
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certification)
