Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Salary: Competitive, based on experience (£14.45 - £15.20 per hour)

This part-time role offers a fantastic opportunity to provide individualised support to a child with specific learning needs, helping them to reach their full potential in a supportive learning environment.

 

About the Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with one child, offering tailored academic and emotional support. Your role will involve adapting activities, assisting with classroom tasks, and creating a positive and inclusive space for learning. If you are patient, empathetic, and committed to helping children succeed, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to a child, helping them engage with learning.
• Work alongside the class teacher to deliver adapted lesson plans and resources.
• Encourage focus and participation, using strategies suited to the child's needs.
• Monitor progress and contribute to their academic and social development.
• Help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children, ideally within a school setting.
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• The ability to adapt to the individual needs of the child.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience working with children with additional learning needs.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
