Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical knowledge and system design, with proficiency in various design software.

Duties

Develop detailed mechanical designs using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
Create and interpret schematics for mechanical systems and components.
Utilise MATLAB and Simulink for system modelling and analysis.
Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot design issues and implement effective solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate logic controllers into mechanical designs.
Prepare technical documentation, including design reports and specifications.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies to enhance design capabilities.
Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Requirements

Proficiency in CAD software (INVENTOR preferred) for 3D modelling and drafting.
Strong understanding of mechanical principles and system design methodologies.
Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, LabView, or similar tools is highly desirable.
Familiarity with logic controllers and their application in mechanical systems.
Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively to resolve design challenges.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex technical information clearly.
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential if experience is demonstrable.
Ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of fabrication and fabricated parts.
