Wise Employment are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager for an Education Establishment in Tavistock, Devon. This is a 6-month temporary role that could lead into a permanent role for the right person. The salary for this role is between £40-45K paid hourly (£20.51 - £23.08 per hour) and will be working (site based) Monday to Friday 830am-5pm (37.5 hours per week). There is parking available on site and you will also receive free daily lunch.
As Finance Manager, you will ensure the effective day to day operation of the accounts function and work within a small team with line management responsibility of up to 3 people.
What your day will look like as Finance Manager:
- You will be responsible for the Accounts Management Service and the timely and effective operation of financial processes.
- Working with the Management Accountant to provide a collaborative and effective finance teamwhilst also maintaining daily, weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring ledgers are maintained in good order and all transactions are appropriately recorded in a timely manner.
- Oversee Debtors ledger and support with the recovery of outstanding and overdue fees.
- Oversee and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations and the delivery of month end timetables
- To manage specific balance sheet items such as Fixed Asset Register, Investments, Operating and Finance Leases, accruals, and prepayments and to prepare quarterly VAT returns
- Support with the annual assessment of means tested bursaries
- Undertake any other duties, which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the post.
- HMRC – dealing with VAT, PAYE and On-line returns and also Payroll & Pensions
- Operation of Sage Financial Systems
Key Skills and Experiences Required:
- To be successful in your application, you will need experience of working in a finance or accountancy environment that includes line management or supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience of using finance systems and preferably experience of Sage 200 Accounting System
- You will be qualified ideally in ACA, ACCA or CIMA and educated to GCSE or A Level standard (or equivalent).
- You will have an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (Disclosure and Barring Services) check on the update service or be willing to go through the process to obtain this prior to commencing the role if successful.
- You will have high attention to detail and accuracy skills and be able to prioritise workloads and multitask
