SOCIAL MEDIA & INFLUENCERS EXECUTIVE
Role type: Full time / Part-time
Location: Head Office in Dartington (near Totnes); some home working is an option when meetings and deadlines allow
Core working hours: 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday; flexibility is required for weekend posting and occasional events
Role purpose:
We're looking for an experienced Head of Creative Content to:
- Take responsibility for the creation, development and execution of all creative material, assets and content by ensuring that messaging, storytelling and aesthetics are consistent and impactful, and aligned with our wider business goals
- Champion creative development as a key driver of business success, and to inspire consistently excellent and creatively strong results within our creative and marketing teams
- Drive the definition and evolution of our brand identity and messaging to support long-term brand and business growth.
This role would suit someone with at least 2-3 years' experience in a similar role, eg Art Director or Creative Lead.
It'll be your job to add value by:
Leading creative development for business growth:
- Developing creative strategies and initiatives that focus on our key brand principles, and on the driving needs and preferences of all types of customer
- Working closely with leadership, marketing, design and sales teams to align creative strategies with broader business goals, ensuring that content supports product launches, marketing campaigns, revenue growth and customer engagement
- Implementing a culture of structure and process into creative leadership and management within the business, and embedding a cadence of process to the production of creative work from briefing through to creation/execution, review and approval/sign off
- Developing comprehensive brand guidelines including visual identity, colour palettes, typography, imagery style and logo usage to ensure a cohesive and recognisable brand presence across all channels
- Design and embed guidelines, standards and tools for internal business use, for example branded stationery and presentations
- Driving creative innovation by promoting fresh ideas that support long-term business growth and development of our brand identity while ensuring that all output aligns with established brand standards
- Analysing the performance of creative content and campaigns across platforms, using data and insights to inform ongoing development of brand guidelines and creative direction, and acting as the lead arbiter for quality and excellency across all creative
- Balancing everyday production and workload efficiencies with a cycle of in-depth, full-picture reviews that assess creative output against key strategic goals, in particular those relating to customer communication.
Driving photographic standards:
- Owning the visual strategy for e-commerce product photography, ensuring images showcase our products in their best light and address key customer questions/needs while adhering to our brand aesthetic and technical standards
- Ensuring all e-commerce product photography is optimised for its intended purpose, focusing on clean, consistent imagery with an emphasis on product detail, clarity, brand values and a seamless user experience
- Overseeing creative direction for brand campaigns, seasonal lookbooks, and editorial photoshoots, ensuring they visually communicate our core brand message and key campaign storytelling
- Working closely with marketing, merchandising and design teams to ensure that brand photography aligns with overall campaign goals and product highlights
- Guiding all retouching, cropping and editing processes to ensure all images are flawless and meet technical standards.
Art direction:
- Defining and planning the overall creative direction for e-commerce shoots (mood/theme, lighting, props, colour schemes) and ensuring that all elements, backgrounds and settings enhance the products and styling
- Leading the creation of visual themes, sets and props for brand photoshoots, ensuring all aspects contribute to the overall narrative and campaign goals
- Overseeing the photographer, stylist and hair/makeup artists in their preparation and planning to ensure all elements come together cohesively and combine on-the-day to achieve cohesive, polished results
- Leading the execution of each shoot and taking responsibility for image selection to ensure that the final images reflect both the initial creative vision and commercial goals, making on-the-spot adjustments as needed.
Producing compelling marketing materials:
- Developing compelling visual concepts for all online/offline marketing materials – from CRM/newsletter designs and digital display ads to leaflets, posters and store branding – to engage target audiences across the relevant platform/s while ensuring consistency with our creative, e-commerce and other strategies
- Leading our creative designer/s and social media (or other) content creators in creating high quality, impactful, on-brand and channel-optimised materials across digital and physical channels
- Ensuring all marketing and brand materials adhere to our house style while innovating within those boundaries to keep things fresh, engaging and competitive
- Selecting and collaborating with external suppliers (eg printers) to ensure all materials are executed to the highest standards and delivered on time
Overseeing copywriting and written standards:
* Please note we are open to resourcing this part of the role in different ways; if you do not have strong Copy experience (eg if you are a visual Art Director) but would still like to apply for the role of Head of Creative Content, please state this in your cover note.
- Defining and maintaining a consistent tone of voice for all written and spoken brand communication, ensuring it reflects our personality and values, and resonates with our target audiences and key customer groups
- Overseeing writers and content creators to develop engaging, clear and compelling copy for e-commerce, product descriptions, marketing campaigns, social media and internal projects/resources
- Overseeing copy across e-commerce, marketing and social media to ensure that it’s consistent, persuasive, and optimised for the relevant platform/s
- Reviewing and approving all major written content, ensuring accuracy, adherence to tone and overall quality control before print or publication.
