We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Paediatric Ward Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to join our leadership team. We have 2 full time positions available, with one of these roles having involvement in the overseeing of the Paediatric High Dependency Unit. Experience or an interest in paediatric critical care would be advantageous. The role of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse is to provide clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing and multi-professional team. This includes acting as a clinical leader, supporting the nursing team and being aware of the needs of the ward on a daily basis as well as planning ahead. You will need to be enthusiastic, competent, hardworking, flexible and able to deliver optimum care to children and their families in challenging acute settings. You will also need to be involved in investigating complaints and incidents and ensuring staff learn from events. On occasion, you may be asked to work in other areas of the Royal Devon where children are being cared for, such as NNU, ITU and the Emergency Department. About Bramble Ward Our recently refurbished jungle themed Childrens Ward has a 22-bed inpatient area, four bed Paediatric High Dependency Unit and a day surgery area. Our service also provides a Paediatric Assessment Unit, Day Care Unit, Outpatient Department, and Oncology Day Case Unit. Our play team have created an inviting and inclusive space where patients of all ages can play. From soft play for the youngest and a chill out area with a PS5 for the eldest! As a Childrens nurse on Bramble Ward, youll be supported to build your knowledge, gain new skills and build on your experience.
