Job Overview
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all maintenance activities to ensure efficient operations and minimal downtime. This role involves developing maintenance strategies, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
The Maintenance Planner is also responsible for managing the inventory of engineering parts, materials, tools, and equipment. This role ensures that all engineering supplies are properly stored, maintained, and readily available to support the engineering team.
Duties
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all equipment and facilities.
- Coordinate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and other departments to plan and prioritise maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are documented and tracked in the maintenance management system.
- Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming engineering materials, tools, and equipment.
- Store items in an organized and accessible manner within the engineering stores area.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and update the inventory management system.
- Issue materials, tools, and equipment to engineering staff as required.
- Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as necessary to prevent shortages.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Ensure the engineering stores area is clean, organized, and complies with safety regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of inventory reports and documentation.
- Analyse maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
- Assist in the preparation of maintenance budgets and monitor expenditures.
- Provide training and support to maintenance staff on best practices and new procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience in maintenance planning or a similar role.
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems and software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Working Conditions:
- This position may require occasional evening or weekend work.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £28,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
