Rate of Pay: -

Minimum Starting Rates will be: -

£11.44 p/h midweek, £12.30 p/h weekends
The starting rates may be higher than this subject to experience/ability. Rates may also increase in April 2025.

The Manor House & Ashbury Hotels: -

We are two Sport, Craft and Spa Hotels, located just outside of Okehampton in Devon, UK.
Our Ashbury Hotel is also the 9th largest golf resort in the world!

The hotels normally keep good occupancy year around and therefore we can offer a stable and reliable working environment.
The majority of our kitchen staff have been with is for 10+ years, some have been with us for 25+ years.

Accommodation can be provided: -

Single en-suite rooms available (communal lounge, kitchen and laundry facilities - £50 per week rent, all bills included).
Double en-suite rooms available for ‘couples’ (communal lounge, kitchen and laundry facilities - £40 each per week rent, all bills included).
The staff Block has recently been refurbished and is in good condition.

Duties: -

Wash-up duties (i.e. washing/drying etc). Please note this is manual wash-up of generally larger pots/pans etc. Smaller items (such as plates/cutlery etc are washed via a machine in a separate department).
Keeping a clean/safe working area.
Assisting other Kitchen staff as required.
Subject to performance/attitude/interest etc there will be opportunity to work in other areas of the Kitchen and learn other/new skills.
Chance of progression (for candidates who are capable and willing to progress) to other duties (such as Kitchen Assistant duties, Breakfast Chef duties etc), with any increased responsibility would come an increase in pay.

Hours: -

FULL-TIME – Shift Work. Normal working week will be 5 days, although 4-6 may be required depending on hotel occupancy.
Due to the nature of the job it will include regular weekend shifts as well as midweek, and some evenings (standard shifts are: 7.30am-3.00, 1.00pm-9.30pm). There would be some split shifts e.g. 7.30am-3.00pm followed by 6.00pm or 7.00pm start working until finish (9.00pm/9.30pm).

Person Specification: -

Full-Time applicants preferred, Part-Time will be considered.
Fast worker - essential, as we cater for large numbers when the hotels are busy.
Looking for an honest, hardworking individual.
Someone who is flexible in terms of working hours.
Previous kitchen experience preferred but not essential.
A good role for someone who is physically fit and strong (it might save you having to spend so much time in the gym!!).
