Accountant – Motor IndustrySalary: £60,000 + Company Benefits (including a Company Car)Location: ExeterHours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (37.5 hours per week)

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established automotive business, for an experienced Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with motor industry experience to take on a key role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in line with regulatory requirements.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Utilise accounting software such as Kerridge, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft for efficient financial management.
Conduct financial audits to ensure accuracy and adherence to internal policies.
Assist with budget preparation and forecasting, providing insights on variances and trends.
Work closely with other departments, offering financial guidance and supporting strategic business decisions.
Mentor and support junior finance team members.
Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices.

Requirements:

Motor industry experience is essential, ideally within a franchised dealership.
Previous experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in Kerridge is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical skills and a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) are preferred but not essential.
Previous experience mentoring or training staff is an advantage.
