Our client who are an independent corrugated cardboard packaging business, are focused on delivering innovative customer centric solutions and high-quality products to help their customers grow, are currently on the look out for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team.

You will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of machinery and equipment. The role is hands on and requires strong mechanical and or electrical knowledge and problem solving skills.

Requirements

Fault Finding on machines and auxiliaries
Ensuring machine maintenance programmes are followed
Maintaining and improving housekeeping practices
Adhering to company health and safety policies and procedures
Monitoring machine quality to ensure high standards are maintained
Installation, PPM and reactive maintenance
Mechanical/Hydraulics/Pneumatics
Fault diaognosis and repair
Electrical/PLC troubleshooting
Respond to plant breakdowns

Ability to work alone and under pressure
Needs to have a full understanding of their safety and others around them (clean work space)

Position Prerequisites

Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role
Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of machinery operations
Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques for troubleshooting mechanical issues
Experience reading technical drawings, schematics and blueprints
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
