Due to a recent contract win they are looking to expand the Team in the Southwest with Van drivers to work alongside Verge Sprayers and Surveyors. The projects will run from Launceston to Exeter and across to Bristol and Swindon.
Who you are:
- Valid UK driving license, preferably with a clean driving record (this is negotiable but minimal points)
- Proven experience as a van driver/ similar role with a strong focus on safety.
- Experience working in a role that requires adherence to strict safety protocols.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work environments.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and potentially outside standard hours.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug/alcohol test if required.
- Willingness to undertake additional training as needed.
The Role:
Safely operate a van along main “A” roads in the South West region alongside Sprayers and Surveyors ensuring safety at all times.
- Ensure the vehicle is in good working condition and perform routine checks.
- Assist a sprayer or surveyor with daily tasks.
- Ensure timely transportation of personnel and equipment to various locations as mentioned above.
- Adhere to all traffic and safety regulations.
- Implement safety measures to protect colleagues and other road users.
- Maintain awareness of road conditions and adjust driving practices accordingly.
- Load, unload, and handle equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of survey or spraying equipment.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members.
- Report any issues or incidents to the appropriate parties promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of journeys, fuel usage, and any incidents that may occur.
- Complete necessary paperwork related to daily operations.
- Represent the company professionally.
- Provide courteous and helpful service to colleagues and clients.
- Adapt to changing schedules and tasks as required.
- Be willing to work in various weather conditions and potentially outside standard hours.
Qualifications:
- CSCS card (required)
- Driving License (required)
- Highways access course (desirable – our client will facilitate this qualification if required)
