Senior Support Worker

to join the dedicated team in a

2-bedded children's home , providing care and support to young people recovering from

adverse childhood experiences . About the Role As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in leading shifts, ensuring high standards of care, and creating a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive. Key Responsibilities: Act as

Shift Leader , ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality care. Provide

emotional and practical support

to young people, promoting their well-being and independence. Supervise and support staff, ensuring policies and procedures are upheld. Maintain

accurate records

of incidents, accidents, and interventions. Engage in

multi-agency work , liaising with external professionals. Participate in

on-call duties

(paid additionally) to provide guidance and physical support when required. Ensure healthcare needs are met, including appointments and medical procedures. Encourage educational and social development, supporting young people in reaching their full potential. Undertake

household tasks

such as cooking, cleaning, and general upkeep to maintain a warm, welcoming environment. Assist in preparing young people for

admission, transition, or discharge

from the home. Support and develop less experienced staff members. Requirements: Experience working with young people in a residential setting. Strong leadership and organisational skills. Ability to manage challenging behaviours with a

trauma-informed approach . Understanding of

safeguarding

and child protection procedures. Ability to work
