About the role:
The Wastewater Operations Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed plans and schedules to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities. This role involves coordinating with various departments to optimize resource allocation, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. The role is responsible for co-ordinating and delivering quality planning, scheduling and street works services across our operations, ensuring all work is delivered within agreed SLA’s across designated areas, including the draft of operational programmes to enable a safe, organised and customer/stakeholder focused outcomes. You will ensure that all programmes are focused on maintaining high standards. Working cross-functionally, working with delivery partners, operational teams and all other customers and stakeholders to optimise, implement and deliver a robust end to end access plan for field-based teams within time and resource constraints in order to achieve company service standards.

What you’ll be doing:

    • Operational Planning
    • Develop and maintain detailed operational plans to ensure the efficient functioning of wastewater treatment facilities
    • Manage all work associated with planned activities, Streetworks, tracking it through to resolution. Identify Investment Manager submissions for RIO / H&S and Planned Need Statements
    • Resource Allocation
    • Optimize the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet operational needs
    • Maintenance Scheduling
    • Plan and schedule routine and preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure the reliability of equipment
    • To schedule all planned work for the Operational area, Major and Minor servicing, sump cleaning and contractor appointments
    • Track, manage and raise/remove Maintenance Schedule Tasks, adjusting their frequency and/or work instructions based on feedback from contractors and operational teams carrying out the work
    • Data Analysis
    • Review operational data to identify trends, forecast needs, and improve planning processes
    • Identify asset data quality issues and inform the SPS Manager to ensure these are resolved and where required propose improvement actions for better asset performance
    • Compliance
    • Ensure all plans and schedules comply with relevant environmental regulations and standards

What we are looking for:

    • Operational Planning
    • Proven experience in operational planning, preferably within the wastewater or utilities sector
    • Resource Management
    • Experience in resource allocation and management
    • Technical Knowledge
    • Understanding of wastewater treatment processes and technologies
    • Data Analysis
    • Experience in data analysis and performance measurement
    • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Experience in collaborating with various stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal team

    • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent, including English and Mathematics at grade C or above
