Could you be our nextElectricianorApproved Electricianto join the team and drive this success forwards? What will I be doing in this role? You will be joining a well-established team with a long standing client base and secured contracts for the next 8+ years. Working throughout Devon maintaining and installing streetlighting and streetlight columns, LED upgrades, CMS cell upgrades and other highway electrical equipment. In a typical day, you could expect to be;
- Installing and maintaining street lighting apparatus and furniture, this could be street lights, signposts or signs
- Taking part in diagnosing faults, and fixing faulty equipment if needed
- Completing reactive repairs to return Highways lighting to an operational standard
- Changing, maintaining and testing of equipment to prevent any future issues
- Ensuring we deliver outstanding service to our clients and the general public
- Operating a mobile elevated working platform
- Updating inventory information on assets using Tablet devices.
- Collecting CMS information
- Working to strict safety guidelines and regulations
- Undertake standby and call out duties where needed
What do I need to be successful in the role?
- You will have an electrical background and will have completed an apprenticeship achieving an NVQ Level 3 (2357) or approved equivalent, City and Guilds 2360 part 1 and 2 o r2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 or equivalent qualifications
- We work in all weathers! So you need to be the type of person who is happy working outdoors all year round.
- A lot of this role will be working at height, so you need to be comfortable with working in a MEWP above the ground.
- We do need you to have a full UK Driving Licence as we cover a wide range of locations
- You must have an ECS card, CSCS card or equivalent.
- You have over 2 years experience as a Highways Electrician to be considered for an Approved Electrician role.
Some of our 'nice to haves' are;
- We would look for you to hold IPAF/PASMA working at heights training
- Completion of a G39 Electrical Safety in the planning, installation, commissioning and maintenance of public lighting and other street furniture training Course
- An HGV Class 2 Licence is a benefit but not essential
- It would be a benefit if you have a good knowledge of the 18thEdition, and C&G 2391
