Graduate Business Partnership
Job Summary - A graduate is sought by Devon County Council to support the Devon Climate Emergency Project Manager, principally with partner and wider stakeholder engagement and communications requirements of the Devon Climate Emergency project. You will be employed by the University of Exeter and seconded to Devon County Council. The role will interact with the Marketing, Press & PR Teams at Devon County Council. Assistance will be provided by the role to similar teams of the partner organisations on the Devon Climate Emergency Response Group to ensure communications are consistent across the project partners. The role will also help ensure the partners feel involved in the project and will network with them and wider stakeholders to increase engagement and awareness of the partnership’s activities and to promote the activities to an extensive audience. This role is part of the Graduate Business Partnership (GBP) scheme and offers full time hours (36.5 p/w) from November 2024 until October 2025. About You – You should be a graduate who has a degree in an environmental discipline and has excellent written and verbal communication skills, good organisational skills, and excellent IT skills. You should have a keen interest in climate change, be a team player, be self-motivated, have the ability to work unsupervised, have a good level of creativity and innovative ideas, and be a strategic thinker. Basic design knowledge, experience of editing websites and a broad appreciation of local authority democratic and political processes are desirable. Previous experience of organising events and webinars, partnership working, of communication (including writing newsletters, articles, website material, using social media and other comms channels), and of working in a communications related field are also desirable.
