Temporary Asset Support Officer/Admin – Housing

Pay Rate: £13.93 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, 8.30am to 5pm
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 5-6 months
City: Exeter, Devon
The purpose of the role is to provide a front- line service to Council tenants, leaseholders and members of the public for the Housing Assets Service.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage customer enquiries through a range of channels in a courteous and responsive manner.
Deliver a high quality Repairs/Planned works appointment booking system to tenants and leaseholders.
Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, other housing teams and contractors to ensure awareness and compliance with our expectations regarding working practices.
Input, update and maintain all manual and electronic records in an accurate and timely manner.
Carry out all clerical duties associated with the receipt, ordering and processing of all housing responsive and planned works to contractors.
Deliver specified outcomes within agreed timescales requested by the Planned / Reactive Repairs Lead.
Display a comprehensive understanding of “what matters” to customers and the Council and that services are delivered effectively and proportionately within this framework.
Bring to the attention of the Planned / Re-active Repairs Lead any complaints and reports of incidents to ensure that all appropriate actions are followed-up.
Provide a range of technical and administrative support services for the Housing Assets Service.
Make a positive contribution to the Housing Assets Team, delivering a high quality tenancy service, working within a positive ‘can do’ culture.
Qualifications:
Educated to GCSE level in five subjects including English and Maths or equivalent.
NVQ in relevant area (e.g. Customer care) desirable.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Experience of delivering high quality customer service, preferably in a housing setting.
Experience of working in an office environment.
Experience of co-ordinating processes and people.
Knowledge of property related issues with and awareness of household repair and planned maintenance processes.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and current housing policy and practice.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
