Consisting of over 3 miles of golden sands and backed by the expansive Braunton Burrows UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Saunton Beach Enterprises exists to help all visitors to enjoy every second of their stay. With a varied site comprising of 26 holiday villas, a busy car park and seaside shop, every day is busy, different and rewarding. Situated between Braunton and Croyde, our stunning site offers breath-taking views across Bideford Bay and world class surf, whilst our small, family-run team provides a professional, high quality and friendly service.
The Role:
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Site Maintenance Supervisor to lead a small team ensuring the smooth operation of our site – this includes producing and implementing proactive year-round maintenance plans, delegating tasks to the team and ensuring they are completed within the time frames set.
Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll ensure all buildings, grounds and services are maintained effectively to maximise our visitors’ enjoyment of the site and ensure they receive a safe and pleasing service at all times.
In this varied role, your tasks will include basic plumbing and electrical work, painting and decorating along with managing external contractors that are selected for specific projects that have been agreed with the General Manager. Throughout your work, you’ll ensure all health and safety and legal requirements are met.
You will also work closely with the Housekeeping Manager supporting them with duties including linen deliveries and collections, villa /garden maintenance. In addition to this you will produce and help to cover our out of hours callout rotas and liaise with visitors in a courteous and professional manner, answering any questions and signposting information resources, as appropriate.
The Person:
With extensive experience of managing a small maintenance department, you’ll have a solid understanding of current building regulations and health and safety legislation.
Practical maintenance knowledge and skills are essential. With strong organisational skills, you’ll be able to manage your team's and own workload, identify, prioritise and delegate key tasks.
As a leader, you’ll be positive, professional and proactive – always happy to help out your colleagues and take on tasks outside your general remit. With strong customer service and interpersonal skills, you will build rapport with your own team and have good working relationships with all departments on site, have a natural drive for quality and take pride in your work.
You’ll have a good level of general health, sound computer, numeracy and literacy abilities, flexibility to support all areas of the business and a full clean UK driving licence.
