As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible providing day to day support to the Accounting Department as well as assisting with a variety of day-to-day financial operations such as sales and purchase ledgers and basic bookkeeping

What you’ll do
- Posting of transactions such as bank transfers, credit card transactions, client and broker refunds. and other miscellaneous disbursements and receipts within the Accounting System.
- Make refunds to clients & brokers through the bank as necessary.
- Complete financial transactions within policy management system.
- Deal with Client Credit Card queries regarding credit card payments.
- Apply daily cash receipts in policy management system and accounting system.
- Prepare and distribute monthly billings to brokers.
- Prepare and distribute quarterly introducer statements and payments.
- Collection of outstanding balances from clients and brokers.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers within the accounting system.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Manage and process payable invoices and oversee the UK invoice mailbox.
- Support the general accounts mailbox – assisting with client & broker queries.
- Record transactions in the general ledger through monthly journal entries.
- Review ledger accounts monthly for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with annual audit as appropriate.
- Ad hoc support to the rest of the accounts team as needed.
This might describe you
- Experience with accounts payable, bank reconciliation and invoicing.
- Experience with allocations is desired, but not required.
- Desire to support the month end process.
- Ability to make journal entries.

- This position can be worked as remote position within the United Kingdom.
- This role offers training support for AAT qualification
Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
