The Role
The purpose of this role is to pick, select and stock materials and goods as required by internal and external customers in accordance with company health and safety policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Place goods and materials into storage as per customer and health and safety requirements, using the customer specifications and planning, checking that all relevant paperwork is correctly completed and signed.
- Control of the movement of components / Work-In-Progress around the shop floor as per the issued routings.
- Preparation of packaging and components prior to dispatch using planning datasheets and customer specs.
- Maintenance of records using Mapics, spread sheets and data bases. Keeping management systems up to date.
- Stock control and the ordering of stock. Perpetual inventory checks and annual stock checks. Dispatch holds a large qty of finished components as well as components ready for sub con.
- Dispatching components to the customer and sub-contractors using the customer specs and planning.
- Dispatching all components produced by MB Aerospace to the relevant customer as per their individual specs using Pick Pack Ship / Kitting, to put the parts into sales also creating customer address labels and individual box labels. Checking that the Cof C’s are correct and contain the relevant information and signatures.
- Dispatch/receipt of goods returning from sub-contractors using the planning and customer specs.
- Operating and driving the electrics bus around the site in line with their training and health and safety collecting and distributing work and material to ensure a continuous flow of WIP to all Cells and services areas
- Goods in duties to include the creation of blade lists and production of batch cards, travellers and backing sheets. This requires the inspection of components using measuring tools and the inspection of the paperwork.
Job Requirements
- NVQ Level 1 Engineering and NVQ 2 level 2 in Distribution and Warehouse.
- Trained / Qualified in the operation of overhead gantry cranes and forklift trucks for loading and unloading of components.
- Experience of dispatch procedures.
- Knowledge of product and shop floor locations.
