Being a Visitor Experience Officer for the National Trust is all about people – connecting with them, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit.
During your time at Saltram, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of this years seasonal Christmas offer. This includes making preparations, and also delivering excellent service to visitors.
The Christmas season is the busiest time of year at Saltram, so you'll be working in a fast-paced and busy environment. The role requires flexibility on working days at property, including weekend working.

What it's like to work here:Reporting to Senior Programming & Partnerships Officer, you'll also collaborate and work closely with the whole Visitor Experience team at Saltram.
Saltram overlooks the River Plym and is set in a rolling landscape park that provides precious green space on the outskirts of Plymouth.

What you'll be doing:As Visitor Experience Officer, your work will include devising and running events and activities, and creating interpretive displays and other ways of bringing the place, and its stories, to life for everyone who comes here.
You might be supervising and supporting volunteers and organising rotas. You’re likely to be checking standards of presentation on site, or helping to write for our web pages.
Your main responsibilities will be supporting the delivery of the seasonal Christmas offer, which includes preparing for the event, and supporting front-line service teams.
Who we're looking forWe'd love to hear from you if you’re:
- used to multiple deadlines and managing your own workload
- skilled in organisation and planning, with a good eye for detail
- good at talking to, and getting on with, all kinds of people
- a hard-working and committed team player
- comfortable with IT: Microsoft Office, as well as web and social media
- experienced in producing interpretive materials, such as displays and exhibitions, and marketing or promotional materials
- familiar with health and safety procedures
