Tor View School are seeking to appoint a Teacher who is committed to providing a welcoming, stimulating learning experience for all the pupils at our school. We are looking for a Teacher of the arts to join our team.
To be successful you will be a creative, nurturing individual dedicated to ensuring that students’ needs are met, providing them with a positive learning journey and helping them to achieve their aspirations. You will need to have experience of adapting lessons to make them accessible to all pupils while ensuring a high level of challenge. The school uses the TIS approach to underpin the learning environment and curriculum delivery and you will be well supported to use this within your own practice.
The role will involve you managing typical behaviours involving pupils with Special Educational Needs; therefore, experience of working with students with Autism and complex needs would be advantageous.

Tor View School is a very special school that is expanding its capacity to enable more young people with Autism, trauma related interruptions, communication needs and learning difficulties to access an appropriate curriculum in a wonderful environment in the heart of Devon. Communication Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
Organisation You will have experience of organising, planning and teaching well-structured lessons tailored to the needs of the pupils as well as monitoring each students learning needs, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of each pupil.
