We are seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and dedicated individual to join our team as a full time Digital Lead Midwife on a permanent contract to provide IT support and facilitate the highest standard of care to the families in our service.
This is a niche role that presents an exciting opportunity for a specialist midwife to play a key role in shaping the future of maternity care by utili s ing digital solutions effectively.
The ideal candidate will work core hours of 37.5 hours per week and will e xcel both independently and collaboratively and will be motivated by delivering exceptional care to the families we serve.
You will be encouraged to be involved with Digital counterparts across the region, sharing learning and best practice. Elsewhere, we have an active Digital informatics committee who are like minded individuals from across the Trust sharing best digital practice and latest innovations, which we welcome you to be involved in.

Your role will be pivotal in monitoring and supporting the existing Maternity electronic patient records (EPR) system and will play a crucial part in the introduction and implementation of our new Trust wide EPR, which will include Maternity.
You will m onitor the quality of data within the maternity electronic patient records (EPR) and will ensure that clinical governance and risk management are effectively implemented within the service within the digital arena.
You will be responsible for the :
collection and analysis of data from the Maternity Information System (MIS), undertaking data quality audits
reporting to NHS England
engaging with clinical staff and suppliers to ensure that the maternity services IT requirements are addressed.
You will be responsible for ensur ing that clinical practice meets professional standards through the support of digital technologies. You will be required to provide effective and visible leadership in digital projects, with the requisite knowledge and expertise in the current maternity digital systems. In addition to training and support of clinical staff.
With around 1800 births annually, we offer comprehensive care to women from coastal towns to rural areas throughout Devon.
Our service facilities include:
Day Assessment Unit
8 birth rooms, complete with a pool and a bereavement suite at our Torbay Hospital.
18 bedded antenatal and postnatal wards with co located transitional care bay.
Midwife led birthing rooms at our Newton Abbot Hospital, which include pool facilities.

Care to join us?
You will work closely with the senior management team, specialist midwives, IT, and information departments to ensure new systems and upgrades are implemented smoothly, whilst maintaining close links with clinical staff and maintaining their own clinical credibility.
You will work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team whilst liaising effectively with colleagues from other agencies and organisations to support learning and best practice, both locally and nationally.
You will be required to provide evidence of compliance with local and national data standards and ensure regular reporting to NHS England via the Maternity Services Data Set (MSDS) and appropriately present and disseminate this information. You will contribute towards the monitoring of key performance indicators (KPI’s) using the local maternity dashboard
