The above part-time (up to 0.4 FTE) post is available immediately until 30th June 2025, with the potential for funding to be extended.
Summary of the role
A postholder with high levels of spoken and written Portugues is required to support the management of an exciting collaborative international research project.
The postholder will act as Project Support Officer for a large-scale, international collaborative project that is establishing a free-air carbon dioxide (CO2) enrichment experiment in Amazonia. This exciting and transformative programme will investigate how Amazon rainforest will perform in a future, higher CO2 world. This is crucial for identifying future rates of climate change and the impacts on people and biodiversity, locally, regionally and globally.
The post holder will manage and support a variety of aspects of programme and project delivery, and in particular the activities of the Scientific Steering Committee.
In addition to the essential language requirements, previous experience of project management/support would be desirable, as would a keen interest in forest ecology/or climate change related sectors.
The successful candidate will be interested in the latest research impacts across the economy and society, and possess excellent communication skills.
