At Highfield Preserves we are a family business making award winning Jam, Marmalade, Curd & Chutney since 1984. We are looking for someone with an excellent approach to food hygiene who can work quickly, logically and accurately under pressure. We are a busy, commercial kitchen team with a passion for producing high quality products that we can be proud of.
The role will involve most aspects of our kitchen, working as a team in a busy environment. You must be a team player with a good work ethic and communication skills . You will be trained in all aspects of the kitchen which includes, prepping, cooking, filling jars, recording information and maintaining a clean and hygienic production area in accordance with both company and food safety standards. Previous experience in a food manufacturing role would be advantageous.
This is a Monday to Friday day time role (working 7am-3pm) with no weekend work. Like most kitchens there will be overtime from time to time in order to get things finished.
We close for Christmas and re-open after the New Year and we do not work on Bank Holidays.
If you are just starting your career in the food industry or you are fed up with unsociable hours in the world of catering, then this could be the job for you. Full training will be given in Food Hygiene & Safety in Manufacturing, and Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) to Level 2 standard and Manual Handling.
