Dorwell Cattery Ltd is seeking a new person to join our team. We are seeking someone who can work well in a team but also individually to suit the business’ needs.
This role will be split into summer and winter hours (subject to full training) as follows:
Winter hours will be 15 hours per week (3 Mornings 8-1) to include 2 weekdays and one weekend day.
Summer hours will be between 24 – 28 hours per week (likely 2 full days 8-4:30 and 2-3 half days 8-12)
Through the summer you will be expected to work both days of the weekend on a rota’d basis ( 2 weekends you will work one full day and one half day, every third weekend you will have one full weekend day off)
More hours will be available to help cover staff holidays where possible.
We are very flexible on holiday and making changes to our rota where necessary, as long as appropriate notice is given.
Our summer season runs from 1st March – 31st October and can be very full on at times and our winter season can still be busy so someone quick on their feet is a must. This job involves a lot of bending, crouching, leaning over etc so someone fit and agile is also a must. We also require Christmas working, normal Christmas routine is 2 hours in the morning (8-10am) on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day to just see to the cats’ needs and then the rest of the day is yours.
As an employee of Dorwell Cattery Ltd you will be expected to fulfill:
· Cat care (including trays, general wellness checks, grooming / playing, cleaning bedding – to include, hair, hairballs etc)
· General Cleaning (sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning windows, washing, weeding)
· Telephone and Emails
· Taking Bookings
Cat welfare and happiness is at the forefront of our working days and we strive to be the best so we are looking for someone who can follow on that ethos into their work. We have a strict no scruffing policy.
Experience of working with cats will be favourable although is not a must, a kind but no nonsense attitude is necessary to ensure relaxation and confidence throughout all different personalities.
