CAD Technician The Role
Are you looking for a technically varied and rewarding contract role? We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an CAD Technician.
A successful candidate will possess strong CAD skills with experience in Solid Works, be self-motivated and be able to work as part of a small team.

CAD Technician Role Description
As a CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for carefully modelling existing products and all the associated componentry to create essential drawing packs and updating BOM listings.
This is a fast-moving environment where you need to be able to focus on many differing priorities during the day, maintaining a calm and consistent approach while ensuring delivery against timelines.
You will also be required to provide updates on projects both weekly and monthly to your line manager.
CAD Technician Essential Duties
Essential duties will include, but not limited to the following:-
- Transfer of CAD/CNC programme data from existing media to new media. Check transferred programmes are to drawing.
- Produce nested daily run programmes for CNC machines
- Check existing bills of material against actual production. Correct and rewrite as required.
- Update BOMs as on ERP system and /or vault
- Check and update production routings on ERP system
- Check CAD drawings against actual production parts. Log and amend any discrepancies as advised by senior management.
- Perform such tasks as may be necessary for smooth operation of the factory or company.

CAD Technician Education & Experience
- Minimum of NVQ level 2 in engineering.
- Awareness of general manufacturing techniques and methods.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in 3D modelling CAD
