The Role: I am recruiting a Financial Adviser (Financial Planner, IFA) on behalf of Med-Ex Financial Advisory Services Ltd, a leading independent Financial Planning firm based in Uffculme, Devon (EX15, just 2 miles off the M5). This is an employed role and provides a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Adviser (Financial Planner, IFA), to take full responsibility for managing an existing portfolio of clients, providing fully holistic, independent lifestyle financial planning.
The Opportunity: The successful Financial Adviser (Financial Planner, IFA) will be ambitious, keen to progress and to make a significant contribution to the strategic direction of the firm, with the opportunity to take over leadership of the business as the Founder gradually transitions towards retirement (over the next 5 years). They will also be provided with the support required to become Chartered (if they are not already) benefitting from the guidance and 30+ years’ experience of the Founder and Director.
The Person: The successful Financial Adviser (Financial Planner, IFA) will be a warm relationship builder, who is used to delivering a highly personalised and fully holistic financial planning service. You will have strong technical knowledge in most aspects of financial planning (including retirement and pension planning, investments, tax and estate planning and protection) and will be responsible for analysing and addressing clients’ financial needs and goals, developing comprehensive lifetime planning strategies and providing proactive and on-going advice.

- Develop strong relationships and work to deliver an exceptional service to new and existing clients.
- Provide a highly personalised, fully holistic, goals led, financial planning service.
- Attend client meetings, conduct client reviews, make financial planning recommendations and implement solutions.
- Delegate work as appropriate to ensure the highest levels of technical research and client service is provided.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of industry standards and ensure all regulatory and compliance standards are met.
- Utilise technology such as Microsoft Teams, CRM systems, and AI, to enhance client service delivery.
- Contribute to the strategic and operational development of the business.
Financial Adviser (Financial Planner, IFA), Skills and Experience:
- An experienced Financial Adviser used to delivering a high quality, personalised and goals led, financial planning service.
- Diploma qualified as a minimum (Dip PFS or equivalent).
- Good knowledge and experience of all areas of financial planning – retirement and pension planning, investments, tax and estate planning and protection taxation etc.
- Emotionally intelligent, a keen listener and strong communicator, capable of articulating complex financial concepts clearly and a warm relationship builder, demonstrating a caring, client-centric approach.
- A supportive, motivational and collaborative team player, with the ability to manage workflow and delegate tasks effectively.
- Quality focused, analytical with excellent attention to detail.
- A strong technology and mathematical aptitude.
- Confident and ambitious, keen to learn and to contribute to business strategy and the continued growth and success of the business.
- Preferable but not essential - Experience of NHS benefits would be useful but is not essential.
