Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced female Care Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a woman in her early 30s at her adapted bungalow in Exeter. She lives with quadriplegia following a high-level spinal cord injury and requires 24/7 care. Her care needs include pain management, bowel care and all aspects of personal care. This includes monitoring for Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD) and intervention if required. AD is a condition that results in a severe and potentially dangerous rise in blood pressure.
She prefers consistency in her routine and typically feels most comfortable with female carers around her age.
She enjoys spending time with her daughter, having her hair, makeup and nails done, watching reality TV, and using her laptop. She lives with a family member and her pet cat.
Note: We are looking for someone who would like to work flexible nights throughout the week. Ideally you'd be able to cover a minimum of 2-3 nights per week.
