Butler Rose is recruiting a Financial Accountant for a long-standing client based in Exeter. This is a permanent role with hybrid working available.
Reporting into the Financial Controller, this is a varied role where you will manage a small team and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders across the business.
Key duties will include:
· Preparation of statutory accounts
· Involvement in the year-end audit
· Review of internal controls and processes, suggesting and making improvements where necessary
· Oversee the general ledger including reviewing of postings and balance sheet reconciliations
· VAT compliance
· Assist with year-end tax computations
· Involvement in month-end tasks
· Manage a team of 3 accounts assistants
· Financial analysis, including reviewing of KPIs
The successful candidate will be a formally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical finance skills and the ability to work positively within both the finance and wider team. The role would suit someone currently working in a similar role in industry, or someone from practice looking to make a move into industry.
