We are a family run farm based in the Bere Peninsula with British Heritage rare breed pigs, poultry, goats, cows, sheep, horses, and cats and dog. Set in 43 acres, of which 9 acres are woodland. We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented chef, passionate about creating good food from fresh produce, to join us in our new café and restaurant opening in March. Currently a working farm with dog exercise sessions, horse livery, private hire gym and secure field, campsite, education and events centre.
Part funded by NLHF, the successful candidate will be working in collaboration with the Kitchen Lead/Cook. You will be responsible for producing high quality food including, breakfasts, light lunches, main meals and deserts. You should have strong leadership skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a thorough understanding of food, health and safety regulations. You will need to communicate effectively, address issues promptly, be flexible with your availability, and keen to motivate a team where everyone can feel valued and pull together. You must have relevant experience to produce only the best freshly prepared meals and baked goods in a timely manner.
Main duties include:
Food preparation and cooking of fresh food
Keeping up with industry trends and creating new menus with the kitchen lead
and as agreed by the owners
Following a budget
Stock rotation and labelling compliance
Ensuring standard portions and quality of dishes
Health, safety and food compliance
Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and ensuring sanitation practices
General Data Protection Regulation compliance

including baking
