Sous Chef Vacancy

An excellent opportunity for a talented, passionate Senior Chef to join The Lost Kitchen in our gorgeous wood-fired restaurant, working with a friendly team to deliver a wood-fired seasonal menu from an open kitchen environment in rural mid-Devon.

We would love a true people person, that uses local produce to deliver seasonal food, along with keen attention to detail and enjoys working with others. Amazing if you already have wood-fired cooking skills, but we fully appreciate that a passion for fire and wood-fired cooking with experience in a professional kitchen environment is a great start, for baking and/ or butchery skills are an absolute bonus.

We cook seasonal modern & classic inspired Mediterranean comfort food with light and clean flavors with many ingredients from the southwest, all meat is local outdoor reared, milk and eggs from neighboring farms, fish from Devon and Cornwall, and scallops are hand-dived.

You will ensure the smooth running of operations including; maintaining daily production levels, food safety standards, ensuring that guidelines are followed, monitoring stock. You’ll be working with the management team to further develop our year-round seasonal menus, being creative with fire to create and test dishes.

Competitive salary starting at £28,000 upwards depending on experience,
