Self-Employed Manager needed

Our efforts to reopen the Globe Hotel, under community ownership, are coming together. The next crucial step is to appoint a Project Manager to push the work forward and keep the momentum going.

We are looking for someone with strong recent experience in managing community projects, able to start straight away on a part-time, self-employed basis. This is initially a six-month contract for 22.5 hrs/week at a fee level commensurate with experience; contract extension will be dependent on project progress, tied to our forthcoming community share issue.

Main areas of responsibility

· Work with our specialist advisers to understand our Business Plan, learn about community shares and manage the forthcoming Community Share Offer.

· Work with our Board, our funders, the local authority and key partners to maintain the smooth running of the organisation

· Work with our Treasurer to plan and supervise the finances

· Lead on acquisition of the building: legal matters and contracts, consultants and specialists, insurance and registrations

· Supervise and support our Community Coordinator’s work to build public awareness, create events and keep people informed

· Track progress, including risk management, and report to funders where appropriate

· Be flexible and ready to adapt to the project’s needs

Preferred experience and knowledge

· Managing a community project and working with multiple stakeholders

· Knowledge of the local economy in North Devon and Torridge
